How to get here ?

There are many different ways to come to Koh Chang, fast or slow, expensive or cheap. There are flights to Trat, public busses to Trat, Laemgnob or to the ferry, privave minibusses to the ferry or to island, tourbusses to the ferry, boats from the other islands or you can charter a taxi.

Depending on the season the schedule and price can change quite a bit, so it is wise to check with the company you plan to use beforehand. During low season there is an abundance of transport, during low season however it can be quite hard to find your way to Koh Chang or around.

How to get here ?

From Bangkok

  • Busses leave from Bangkok`s Ekkamai bus station every hour, price around 250 to 350B. There is a busstation in Suvarnabhumi airport as well with connection to Koh Chang. The trip to Trat takes 5 to 6 hours. In Trat taxis are waiting at the bus station to take you to the ferry 50/60 B. There are 2 ferry lines to Koh Chang, around 100 B, they go on the hour and half hour, the last boat goes at 07.00 pm. Once on the island there are taxis bringing you to the beach where you want to stay.
  • There are also mini busses from most hotels in Bangkok, they drop you at the car ferry, around 300 to 500 B, and some bring you on the ferry to your hotel on Koh Chang, they charge 400 to 1000 baht.
  • There are several domestic flights a day from Bangkok to Trat, price at around 2800 Baht one way. From the airport in Trat there are taxis or mini busses to Koh Chang.

From Cambodia

  • Once you have crossed the border at Hat Lek, there are minibuses to Trat waiting in the car park on the right hand side, 120B pp. Rest of the route, see above.

 

From other islands

  • There are regular boats coming to Koh Chang from Koh Kood, Koh Maak or Koh Wai.
